Gauging interest on Fiberglass Fenders

I have a guy who might be willing to make fiberglass fenders for our 3rd gens. He says he's not accepting any custom work right now. But has told me if there was enough people interested, he'll consider making them.

I don't have a price yet... but I'm assuming it'll be around $350-$400 per pair. Not including shipping.

He does offer a few different style of vents. I'd have to talk to him about that. It might be easier to get the fenders and vents seperate, and cut out a hole for the vents.

Keep your butt down over there. Need you to come back so this guy will have some business.

I hit at the best time... plus Kirkuk was toward the mountains. The mud was just plain nuts... Like driving on ice. I had my own little 4 door Nissan pickup to drive around while I was there.

Glad I was on a actual base, FOB's could get real "hot" real fast. But hey, AF tends to keep it's people tucked away...LOL.

Ashland sounds familiar. I'm trying to remember exactly where it was. I used to live in Paris... 14 miles west of Kentucky Lake.

ashland city is right outside of nashville, just to the west, nice little town, peaceful. and yeah, i took hummers out all winter in the mud.....our fob doesnt really get too 'hot' with attacks anyways...mortars do of course. where were you at, LSA Anaconda?

Now I know why it sounded so familiar. My dad used to work for Cyanede plastics there in Nash. I remember seeing the sign for Ashland when i'd got to work with him sometimes during the summer. That was a long time ago.

Realized I was getting off track... Fenders... of course. 2 people so far, and a couple of sit asides. I'm waiting for an email back on how many sets he'd require to make it worth it.

ustfdes, left a PM

I don't see how these could be of any particular advantage over the stock ones. Lighter? I doubt it. Stock ones are like feathers.

Modification I guess. Of course, metal is easy to work with too. I'm not interested in them myself. I'm going to have enough fun with my hood scoop.
