Maybe I'm blind, but i don't see the difference between domestic SE gauges and JDM SE gauges.
If you wanna get some cool gauges, there was one guy here on the board that posted the pic. of SE gauges where the speedometer and tach. were switched around so that the RPM's were right in you face and not hidden to the side by the steering wheel.
In the meantime, good upgrade on you GXE.

JDM = +5WHP , other than that they look the same to me.

it's the US 92-94 SE (VE motors) gauge.

FYI...don't be pimpin around telling people it's "JDM" because it's not.

big hint that it's not JDM...they don't use MPH in Japan.

yeah the VE pushes higher RPM and higher MPH limits.
it's ok...don't be sorry...i just don't want you to look dumb in front of others when you tell them it's JDM and it's not.

That was my question. Because you now have 92-94 SE gauges your speed on the gauges isnt accurate anymore.

I was thinking that too, but since its electrical wouldnt the reading coming to the speedo still say (just for example) 20MPH, and then the connection on the back of the speedo would take that reading and move the guage accordingly to 20 MPH, or would it move the guage to where 20 was on the old one?

no...I have done this swap on 2 GXEs I have owned. It is a direct swap and no need to adjust anything. The speed will be correct...well up to the normal range...I havent really tried it above 125.

the 89-91SE gauges are white and go to 125. Someone put 89-91SE gauges in your car before you got it. The white gauges were not even an option on the GXE so it had to be swapped.

The VE gauges (92-94SE) were white and went to 145 mph.

as mentioned earliet the 145 MPH gauges will fit in all 3rd gens without any adjustments needed. (just wanted to add that again in case some one misses my other post).

I should have took the pick when I buried the speedo on mine. The camera was sitting right there in the center console. Just never dawned on me. I'll do it again on the way to the Max meet in July...

I remember making a list of all the sizes and their respective increase in HP. As well as how much certain body mods would increase... I should have kept that.

News: JDM means "Japanese Domestic Market"
Details: In Japan, they use the metric system.
What this means to you: If those were JDM gauges, they would read km/h and not mph.

edit: damn it, I got beaten to it like three times. oh well they still look pretty good.

Had to chuckle a bit when I read this thread. Owned by ebay? But $38 shipped isn't bad I guess.

well Mike beat to this but u don't need to calibrate the VE SE gauges once u swap them into ur car. i did this mod about 3 yrs. ago and they read correctly so there is no need to calibrate anything on those gauges just swap them in.
