Red Maximas?

Are there any Red Maximas in years 95-98? I mean really red, not maroon. Even though I found my 92 Aztec red, I keep looking. I can find plenty of 99's but haven't seen a single 95-98. Did they quit making red for a while? I would post in the 4th gen forum, but this is my home! I don't read the 4th gen forum. You guys will know the answer anyway.

Nope, Aztec red for the 3rd gen, then no real true reds for 95-98

then IIRC, the 99 in the SE-L (limited) package could come in Crimson Blaze. No true red for the 5th or 6th gens either.

An interesting side note (I mentioned this somewhere else).

I test drove a 2005 Frontier Crew Cab last month and while going over the options, I noticed they brought back "Aztec Red" as a Nissan color. They didn't have one in stock, so I am not 100 sure it is the same color, but it has the same name and it is a "red red" not some kind of maroon.

I also learned from Keelan (spipedong90) that they made the GXE in Aztec Red, too. I have never seen one in person, but he had one and even has pics of it somewhere.

The grandma-car proportions of a 4th gen wouldn't look nice in Aztec Red. I cringe everytime I see a 99 Crimson Red.

New Zealand had the option of a red red, (similar to Aztec Red), but not sure of the name of it though, as well as a maroon colour for the 4th gen. It must have been a reasonably popular colour as their are a few of them around.

You can get just about any color you want... you just have to have good connections. I've seen a Baja in the WRX colors... and they don't offer that. I wish I would have bought that... I would have had the only one with that color. But I ended up getting the Protege 5

There was a 4th gen in the for sale forum that looked very close to Aztec, but it was possible he painted it. He did have a kit on the front.

Red WAS offered as a color on 4G Maximas, but it is without a doubt extremely rare. I've only see one in Phoenix, and it was definitely a factory color. The one I saw was an SE model, and it had the 5-spoke factory wheels (seen on 4G-B Maxes), and it had the dark metallic SE plate badges seen on the newer (very late 90s) Nissans. I have yet to see another like it. It may have even been a dealer-specific thing.

Check this one in Park Ridge, IL:http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...n&cardist=1439

EDIT: searching country-wide, I see approximately 11 "real" red 4G Maximas (all of which are SEs with either tranny) for sale.

Like Shawn said, they are all going to be SE-L models from 99, unless someone had their car painted. There are a few guys on .org that have them.

Yeah, bright red aka Aztec Red was brought out only on the 99 SE Limited editions. Nissan occasionally would bring that color out, like on some years of 2nd generation Altimas, and other Nissan Models.

the dark metallic badging would clarify it's an SE-L which is the Crimson color. only the SE-L's came with the darker badging which was only done in 99
