2k to blow, what to buy for the max??

well i'm fixin to graduate and i'm suppose to get at least 2k, my parents are buying me wheels so i have to buy the tires, i'm thinking about lowering the max cause 3 of my struts are bad, should i buy a body kit and get it painted, or should i do a buttload of suspension stuff (all Matt's goodies ) or does someone have any better suggestions for me?

well a kit is 500 and tires are about that too, so youve got about 1k to "blow" on painting the kit and some suspension mods......id probably get a few suspension things and BBK.

i guess i would get new struts and lower it to make the rims and stance look alot better.

well is a body kit needed?? or should i hold off on that and use it for something, doesn't a bbk go through pads a lot faster than a normal brake kit??, i'm thinking a FSTB and a RSTB and prolly the stage II lower tie

well good choices on suspension, and yes body kit isnt needed. but struts are! get new struts and drop it. Then i would worry bout fstb, rsb and stuff. bigger brakes are gonna help you stop better period, i think getting pads sooner isnt a problem.

so 1st is struts/springs
then put your rims on with your new tires.
then get some more suspension goodies
then if you got dough get the body kit.

but thas just me.......actually its what i have planned this summer.

sweet, would it be better to touch up paint my car, then just paint the body kit seperately and put it on myself to save money, or would it be better to just put it on then get it all painted (not sure about prices for a good paint job)

on top of all that this summer i wanna do some go fast mods

Well my replacement Brembo Slot rotors were only $292. And for some reason mine seem a little more aggressive than the one's internetautomar sells They work really well though

Spend it on Matt's suspension goodies

more would know about paint, but i know that white is really hard to match perfectly, so maybe it would be a good idea to have your car and kit painted at same time and with the kit on........

Ehh, maybe it's just me, but I'd rather do all body work last... keeps that sleeper style going.

well its your money and your car....so what do you want your car to do or look like?

do you want to impress the ladies by looking sweet rolling by at 2 miles an hour so everybody see you....

or do you want to impress the ladies by taking corners at wicked speeds?

maybe the ladies cant catch up to you in their cavalier so youd have to slow down then they would see you without your car dropped or looking shined up and laugh and drive up to the honda with japanamation stickers and ubergay groundFX.........

anyway my point is do what you want to do to your car.....

Forget those girls... they have no idea of what fun is anyway.

But I never liked a girl who was that interested in my car. My wife loved my truck, but she meet me long before she meet my truck. Plus, she's much of a Maxima freak as I am. Look for that common bond.

Spend the money on what you want. My advice, go for the suspension. A body kit doesn't do any good if you bottom out, or turn to hard and scrap it.

Save your loot bro, you will need it when you get into the really world. Plus your car is pushing 13 years. If it has not done so all ready, you will need to start throw some cash to keep it on the road. Just stash the cash for a rainning day, trush me YOU WILL NEED IT SOMEDAY, and wished you had it. just drive your car as a daily driver.

GO BOOST

A vg30et can run you about 700 and installation another 400 if you do it yourself.

a carbonfiber hood is a perfect mod... form meets function 100%

put that 2k aside and save for a skyline or....whatever, just save it... when alot of money falls into your lap at once its much better to save it then spend it.

-at least if you save it...you will have time to think of what to do with it.

-bbk is ricy..

i mean i wanna save up for something else, but at the same time i'd like to spend it on the maxima, just not sure what....well i got a month before i get it so i have time i guess to plan

save it man - why would you spend all that money on essentially nothing when youre about to enter the most uncertain year of your life.
or you might knock some girl up - or have to pay off a crooked cop. its peace of mind in the bank, worth every penny

Be smart, don't spend it all on your car, that would be very foolish. Its a 1990 just do what it needs, drive it to the ground and save up for your next car and buy yourself something special like a watch or whatever you like.

be smart and just save the cash.... if i had 2k to "blow" at 17 i'd have been much happier with cash in the bank when i needed it. instead...i blew it all on the max and worked 3 jobs in college to survive

i'd say... make a term deposit.. that way it keeps u from spending it.

and the max is old.. just drive it to the ground.. throw in some cheap toys if u want, and enjoy what's left of it's life.

man i thought this was a pro maxima site, i feel like my car is a worthless pile of crap after reading this thread...

Dont save that money. Pimp it. Send your money out to work for you. Invest in something low risk(not the stock market). If i were you i would put half in the bank, and use the rest to buy a 10 year or so CD, those are guaranteed returns and you cant touch it till the time is up so if you dont have discipline thats a good way to go. Im looking to buy a forclosed house this summer or something with real-estate. Be creative but dont let George sit in an air conditioned account, tell his lazy behind to work for you.
