Interior Windshield Haze

Does anyone get a kinda hazy look on their windshield? I clean mine regularly and it seems like after a couple weeks this thin dusty haze appears makin it hard to see at night. Does anyone know what this is from/how to control it? thanks.

if you smoke in the car it could be from that. dont know that was the issue with mine. but mine only did it in the winter since it was too cold to have the windows down all the way

don't smoke. i thought it might be somethin in the ac/defrost system. Guess i'll have to live with it. I open my windows/sunroof all the time so i guess that could be why it happens. thanks anyways

best way to clean it is to use one regular glass cleaner with one microfiber towel to get it all wet and cleaned. then use a brand new clean dry microfiber towel to wipe it dry. this has made mine stay haze free.......because the second round of cleaning is what wipes away the crap doesnt just smear it back around......hope this helps.

you may also want to try baking soda in the ashtray.

I heard (and have tried myself)cleaning with whatever kind of glass cleaner, like Windex or whatever and using newspaper to wipe it clean...it works. Leaves a streak-free finish.

I smoke in my car and get that residue...if you dont smoke, I dont know what else it could be...Possibily from opening the windows and all the sand/dirt from the road could be flying in...?

Freshen Ashtrays : Got a smoker in the family? Place 1/2 inch of Baking Soda in the bottom of the ashtray to eliminate stale tobacco odors. Replace the Baking Soda when you empty the ashtray. As an added bonus, the Baking Soda helps extinguish cigarettes and cigars!

is cool!

baking soda absorbs the fumes.

nothing can prevent the outgassing it just happens.

I always use newspaper, it is far superior to paper towels. I also get this haze, I just figured it's from all the nasty breath people let out in the car!

I forget the technical term for it, but essentially there is chemicals added to plastic and vinyl that keep them soft and plaible. These checmicals slowly evaporate over time and will put the haze on the inside of the windshield particularly because of the dash right under the glass. If you use armer-all or other chemicals, they tend to have the same effect or enhance the effect. There isn't really anything you can do to stop it from occuring.

Thats what I would have thought (and did before I tried it) too. Seriously (and surprisingly) though, the ink does NOT bleed. Try it...it really does work. I mean, it cant hurt to try... Its far better than any other thing I have used (windex wipes, paper towels, rags, etc.) For some reason it leaves a STREAK-FREE finish..(providing that you cleaned off all the residue well enough and arent just smudging it around)
