Went to the track today....

Well I went to my local track today, and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. My best overall slip was:

60' - 2.180
1/8 - 9.250 @ 79.59mph
1/4 - 14.110 @ 100.19 mph

My best trap for the night was 100.89mph, and I was consistently trapping 98mph+. The traction was just awful, I got a decent launch that run, but spun them through 1st. I tried modulating the throttle a little, but it didnt seem to help. This track is somewhat slow, and many people were complaining about the lack of traction. All in all, I guess it was a decent day, at least I know my car has the potential as it stands for 13's, given a better day. I am also on a fairly rough tune, so that might also be hurting things. Anyways, just thought I'd share. This is on 6psi with a 3" cutout by the way.

those are some nice 60' times for street tires.. unless you broke traction past the 60ft mark (and at that time you should have been close to shifting to 2nd gear anyway)..

what's the elevation up there? weather? humidity?
those are all factors that can affect your times. again, your 60ft is pretty good.. so you have the launch down. you just need to learn how to roll the throttle into 1st gear so you don't spin the tires. you may try a 2-stage boost limiting setup or something that limits you to lower boost in 1st gear since you can't use it. should make it easier to run through 1st without just smoking the tires...

give it some more runs at the track and see what happens.

Good times for 6psi. The 60ft is nice on street tires wish I could do that.

Yeah, it's a good 60' considering this is the first time you've been to the track since your new turbo setup. Plus, you were on street tires. Keep it up! You'll see those times drop very fast once you tune it and safely turn up the boost.

Yeah, I was launching at 3.5-4K letting the clutch out quickly. The tires hooked right up, but sometimes I had really bad wheel hop, even with my motor mounts and front tranny mount poly-filled. I'll just have to go out again sometime to practice with the throttle. After getting off the line I either gave it too little gas, or too much and just spun em.

The weather was around 52 degrees and overcast. Humidity was around 50% I think.

Thanks! I'd say for the turbo, doing all work myself, it was around 3K, maybe a little more. That doesn't include the clutch or gauges.
