found a heads up in a 240

I found a heads up display in a 240 in the junkyard. Im not sure of the year of it. if I had to guess I would say its a 90. would this fit into my maxima? I know that the trim around the display wont but I can worry about that some other time. what all would I need to take out of the 240 for this to work if it can work?

Nissans had HUDs back then? You mean like the ones Pontiac has been using for years?

89-91 GXEs came with HUD as an option

If you get it to work, just use a piece of tint on the windshield to get a good HUD display....

does anyone know if this is basically the same unit out of the GXE? I really dont want to go throug all the trouble of taking everything out of the 240 and everything out of my maxima just to find that its going to take a lot more work than the HUD of a GXE.

honstly, I think you could get it to work with our speed sensor but it'd be different and I dont have time to figure it out for you so you'd be on your own there
also, I saw one in the junkyard the other day too and looked closely at the trim piece and you'd have to either get a maxima trim piece or do some custom stuff to make that one work but the dash curvature isn't really the same for that part

Craig added that write-up to his site a few weeks ago, I believe. Check that. It's under 3RD GEN FAQS in the stickys.
