Coolant Temp Sensor
Whats the difference between the blue one and the red one?
i had a blue one in there and it seems like even the temp is on the "hot" side, the fans never turn (yes...if i disconnect this, the fans turns)....so i went and replaced this with a red one.
when i installed and started the engine, it hesitated and my CEL went "on" for a minute then went away then idled normally. I shut off the engine, then after 5mins, I started it again....again the engine hesitated or about to stall but it went down to normal...weird.

Max (VE and VG) has one engine temp sensor which ECU uses in engine ctrl. Dunno about your colors, but resistance is the only thing that matters to ECU. Cold is about 2.6kohm, warm is near 1k (VGE).
Another engine temp sensor is used for greenpiss: EGRC

- Select Resistance meas scale,
- Engine temp: take conn out, one probe on pin, one on engine =gnd
- EGRC: take conn out, one probe on pin1, one on pin2
It migt be ok to leave conn in while measuring...
