I am ready to buy new rims, the ones i found are Maxxim Pursuit 17 x 7.0, 5 on 114.3, 42 mm offset, and Kumho ECSTA supra 215/45/r17 speed rating Z....Are these good rims, good tires, good tire size, also, they are 972.00 shipped, any feedback would be great...

I dont know much about the brand of rims but Kumho tires are great tires and pretty cost eff. too The biggest thing is you need to check and see how long the tires will last. The mileage expectancy of the tires. THis will save you a few bucks in the future when it is time to replace the tires. As far as the Z speed rating goes I dont believe that us Maxima drivers have to worry about that. However my tires are z rated a well and my car corners great. 215 45 17 is the same tire size as I have and I believe that is the closest to the actual factory Tire diameter. My spedo isnt off but a few Mph. So that is a plus. I hope that some of this information will help you out.

umm

Maxxim are distributed or made by Konig, (i think) but they are the "cheaper" version.. don't know anything about them though, shouldn't be bad I guess..... Now the Kumho's are rumored to be a superior tire, a LOT of members on the org use them, they are cheap, quiet, grip like hell in the wet and dry and just a great ultra-high performance tire for an unbeatable price.. don't drive on them through snow though

The package deal sounds okay, considering the tires are about 100$ each.. The 215/45/17 will work, but u can also get 225/45/17, which is just a bit wider tire, give u more sidewall and more protection for the rim when parking... I have 225/50/16 on 16 X 7" rims. they are awsome, I like the fact that I can't curb the rim even if I mess up a parking attempt..

Well, forget the Maxxim rims....I am going to get a set of 17 inch Konig Reign's....Now, the part I cant decide is the tires. I want performance tires, and a small sidewall, and a nice ride. I dont want low profile, just something sporty looking. I like the Kohmo 712's....can anybody give me a good recomendation on the size, and maybe explain what the damn numbers mean...how about 215/45/17 ????
