Help!! :(

First of all, my temp guage is showing that the engine is cold when it's actually warm/hot. It slowly starts to shows it's warmer after driving it for a while but, it doesn't go completely between hot/cold like it usually does. This is making it run too rich. My cat is getting hotter than usual and it backfired once. I think I'm going to ruin (if I havent already) my cat and O2 sensor (both are new) if I drive it anymore. I thought it was my coolant temp sensor so, I replaced it but it's still doing the same thing. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

My fuel pump is making a high pitched buzz/hum after I shut off the engine. Does this mean it's going bad?

What are the symptoms of having a bad tie rod(s)?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Some of the typical possibili-ties that may be involved:
- Coolant level low, air bubbles in. Bleed the system, seek for a leak. Hopefully does not leak inside...
- Pump corroded
- Thermostat jammed
- oxidized sensor wiring: ECU /gauge does not get the signal. Measure the resistance from the temp sensor AND at ECU: compare. Should be about the same.

- Pump: any noise level up means problems.

- Too tight tie is bad for drivers oxygen input... rods bad; max steering itself maybe. Only 'minor' problems (!) when right tie rod dropped off from my jeep...
