My short shift over heats for some reason, after driving for more then an hour its impossible to touch. the console where the shift thrower connects to the gear extension bar also is very hot. I went to mechanic he said everything is fine, he told me its because of the weather , since its hot and all. But I think otherwise. What do you guys think? Does anyone have this problem?

Have you checked your tranny fluid lately? make sure it's full.

My tranny in my old mitsu truck used to get really hot when I'd let the fluid get low.

Weird. Is the bottom of your shifter in contact with any exhaust components under the car? Or did you remove a heat shield when you installed the shifter, and didn't put it back? Take a look under your car, that might be the problem.

I did that as well, thats what I thought too, but no everything is in place and the ezhaust does not have any contact with the shifter.
