Another A/C question...

I was at a shop and the tech tells me reason why my A/C is not holding a charge is because I have a leak in the hose (pipe) on the low side going into the radiator does that make any sense to anyone> if so what the fix to this?
by the way I had R12 system but just tried to convert to the R134A stuff/

I dont understand?
are you saying I should plug the leak with what?

Wiking 06-09-2005 07:26 AM

Well, I am told that I am warp Ed in my texts. Rightly so...

Do as Danny says, find that piece of piping and replace it. Then go smplace to have AC fillup.

turns out its the condensor. refrigerant leaks right out of it. Can the condensor be plugged to seal the leak?

I had my AC done a week ago. No, you should replace the condensor to be safe. When you do, also replace the receiver/drier (aka Water Tank Assembly) purchased from Nissan, and you should be fine. Oh, you also need 4 o-rings, 2 small ones and 2 bigger ones - again, buy from Nissan. If you do this at an independant mechanic shop, expect to pay around $600 total for parts, labour and evac+recharge.
