Nissan has a lifetime seatbelt warranty. I think it started in 89, so your car might depend on the build date. Call up your local dealership and tell them the problem and ask if your car is covered. If it is, they will replace/fix them for free.

Do you have the original owner's manual and warranty info? It is in there. I have mine, but I have a 92. I got the dealership to replace mine for free.

Does the lifetime guaranty cover fraying of the belt?

Yes, I do believe some people on this board have convinced dealerships to replace frayed belts. You may have to visit several dealers however.

My driver's side belt was frayed. It was kind of a PITA to get them to replace it (they didn't want to, I complained, asked to see the manager, etc.). The service manager looked like a redneck, so I reminded him that the likely cause of Dale Earnhardt's death was that his seat belt broke. He decided to replace it under warranty.

Dude stop posting in threads just to bump your post count up....You are going to get banned for this...Find a thread that fits your problem and post in it.....this is what you are supossed to do....99.99% of everything that goes wrong with these cars has been discussed already....That is why they have the 15 post rule, to stop repeat thread about the same thing....look back through the pages and you bound to find your problem.....Then post in that one or read the thread all the wat to the bottom and you might find the solution to your problem....
