how fast would you go in your 3rd gen
Ok a while back i took my vg for a top speed run. IM turbo! Well I have the 92-94 ve gauges in my max. I went past 145 on the dash and im guessing I went somewhere in between 147mph to 153mph by the time i redline 5th gear.
Well I did that with a 3600lb max and on about 6psi. well I have not tryed it since. Im realy curious to see what a top speed could be now that im running 15psi and have lighten the car by 400lb. I change the redline to 7000rpms too.I going to get my friend with his viper and a camcorder to check the speed. As his speedo will read 200mphs. But do you think 160mph++ would be safe in a third gen. I have Z rated tires and it lowerd.Im guessing the car will do around 165mphs. IF IF i do it it will only be one time and one time only as im nerious to do that kind of speed in a 13 year old car that never was ment to go that fast. WHat supspenion parts would you check out.or would you even try it.
THIS IS DONe ON 5 MILE PRIVATE ROAD

if you can get that car up to 160 mph in 2 miles I'd be pretty surprised .
even moreso when you realize how long it will take to haul that car back down to zero within that same 2 mile stretch.

that's your trap speed, what's yout ET though. then you'll have a clue to your HP which can then be inputed into a calculator to calc your top speed which is a lot safer than trying to do 160+ on Z rated tires (which technically is only 150+)
also don't forget you are hitting the point (or close too) where HP has to increase exponentialy to achieve minor gains.

i've gone only up to 120mph on my '89 SE and in my '93 i've gone up to 125mph with the VE gauges in my '93 so i could have gone more but this was a one time thing. mind u i don't have suspension mods or brake mods done to either car. both r lowered on stock suspension. but i don't c myself doin' it again to either of my cars.
