trade in the works

the blazers and nets are having discussions...oops, i mean last night, i was driving down a busy street and a black '93 se zooms by going the opposite direction. 3rd gen SEs are extremely rare around here. especially black VEs. so after a little hesitation, i flip a biatch and chase after him, stop at a light and ask if he wants to sell, he says yeah, i ask how much. ""$4,500" i think to myself "yeah right" and say that that car isn't worth that much thinking it has a lot of miles on it. i ask if he would want to trade, my car is kind of beat up looking although i just washed it earlier in the day, and he didn't seem too interested. then i say i'd flip him some extra cash, so he points to pull over as the light turns green. we do, i find out it has almost the exact same milage as mine (101,400). i offered $800 in addition to the trade, he seemed interested and wanted to test drive it today. his car has no dents or damage, but mine has a tweaked hood and core support, a black bumper and 1 bent exaust tip. plus a long key mark along the right fender and passenger door that some unknown loser of a person made. of course his car is a lamer auto with velour interior opposed to my 5 speed with black leather so there are some downgrades that make the offer more fair. of course i deliever pizza so i wouldn't really mind the automatic and when it dies, i'll just swap in a 5 speed. the velour is probably more comfortable as well and i was planning on getting a katzkin set to replace my current leather anyway. hope the deal works out, i did hear him downshift once and it sounded like a chainsaw, i'll find out today probably during the test drive. if it all panned out, i'd have a clean black 93 se automatic for about $435, considering my current damaged maxima after insurance check, ended up being free plus about $365. i won't pick bones and factor in the registration costs but still $435 for an unregistered 100,000 mile black ve is a good deal if you ask me probably shouldn't count my chickens though..

well if you think it's a good deal...then go for it. we can't really judge since we can't see the cars side by side.
