Brake Problems.

Monday I was driving home and the brakes got really close to the floor. I pull over and the the fluid is full, I take the cap off and the little rubber seal falls out. It was warped and not usable, I couldnt get it back in. I got a new cap from Nissan, put it on and the brakes were still down there, but I had brakes, I figured I just needed to bleed them.

So I drove yesterday (Tuesday) with somewhat working brakes. I went to get in the car this morning and warmed it up. I popped the hood and took the cap off just to see how the new seal was doing, it came off WARPED and I could not get the damn thing back on AGAIN. Brand new cap from Nissan.

Anyone know what might cause this? air in the system perhaps? This car is driving me crazy, thanks.

try bleeding the brakes 1st. makes sure your master brake cylinder isnt dying also. when you do the bleeding process check your brakes hoses to each caliper make sure no leaks in the hoses. check also the rubber housing around the piston on the calipers make sure it isnt wet if so change the caliper . make sure to re-grease your upper and lower sliding pins on the calipers thats just general maintenance. but to have such a low brake pedal, means there is a leak somewhere in the system. when was the last time you bled the system? to main areas to look @ are the master brake cylinder and the brake hoses on the calipers and or drums which every you have in the rear of the car.
