those with HUDs, problems

just seeing if any of you guys with HUDs, or those that have researched them could help me with my problem

about a week ago, my HUD stopped working, or so it seemed
it wasnt displaying my speed (the digital numbers) and so i just assumed it had died or something came unplugged, but when it was dark i noticed that it was illuminated (kinda), and wasnt when i turned it off, it just wasnt showing the numbers

then 2 times it displayed '188' for a couple seconds after it turned on, then that went away

so i was wondering if anyone had similar problems or if anyone knows what i should look at/for?

internetautomar " maybe the dimming trigger wire is malfunctioning "

but the speed never shows, so it must have something to do with the speed sensor or MCU at least, i may just resolder the MCU or open it up to see if i can see anything wrong with it

Will " Just in case you need a new kit, I have an extra one on sale. "

they sell them in kits!? and its on sale too!! yeah. right.

"they" dont but Will does. He has all the parts you need for an HUD install...when you include all the parts its commonly known as a "kit".

I got my "kit" from Will and it worked great...didnt get to enjoy it for very long but I know pervisanethema is.

as for your problem I would double check all your connections and then resolder the MCU.

Apologies. I meant for sale. And I just posted in case you were thinking of replacing parts if troubleshooting was too difficult. Yeah. Right.

$90 shipped due to the difficulty locating these things, and even though no one here knows me on the .org, the 3rd gen gurus know me well and that I guarantee things work. I'm trying to get a second "kit," so I just might be able to cover the two of you if things work out and the price seems delicious.

Hello

Im sure you have already checked but you didn't just push the little button in the dash that shuts off the HUD did you?

I think its the one on the right that turns it on and off by pushing it. The one that changes the dash from kilometers to miles when turning the ****.

I know i hit it once by accident and thought my HUD was broken. After a few smacks to the dash I smacked myself for being stupid
