Cheap suspension mod?

The front sway bars on our cars have the (ball joints?) attached at the outer extremity of the flat piece at the end of the sway bar. Would it be possible and worth it to drill a hole at the inner extremity on bost sides and re-attach it there? I hope everyone can follow what I'm talking about.

would probably stiffen up the front a few percent. considering it will cost you nothing buy a few minutes, it's worth a try.

My friend the Audi guru pointed that out yesterday as we were checking for a rattle. Just curious if anyone has ever done this. BTW, yesterday we got his '74 Pontiac GrandVille (Grande Villa!) convertible ready for cruising.

an ST set woudl be the best bet but if this helped even a few percent for the time it owudl take (30 minutes maybe?) this woudl be worth it till you had the money for the upgrade
