I got a '93 SE and when I turn on the A/C, my car like struggles when I try to accelerate and it shakes a little. Any ideas on what the problem could be? Thanks in advance

 

are those white rims on the white maxima
Cause if it is. It looks pretty good.

 

yea.....those are silver stock wheels but i had them painted white

 

Maybe its because your driving with the A/C on.

I NEVER drive with the air on. Okay, except for the interstates. It does sound like somethings wrong, though.

I hate the power it robs and the crappy gas milage you get when its on.

 

I read somewhere that driving with the AC on is similar to towing a small boat. It adds stress on your Max. Avoid driving on local streets and slow traffic with your AC on. The Freon/R12 technology used on Max pre 1993 is really ancient, yet not worth the conversion to modern climate control alternatives. If you must drive with your AC on consider pushing you AT button from comfort or normal to power.
