How do you pull codes from a 90 maxima?

I didn't see what tool I need to get codes

 

1.click the link
2.click 1994
3.click nissan/datsun
4.click maxima
5.click driveability&emission controls
6.over to right,click trouble codes
7.below that,click reading reading codes or general info to learn more

 

OK thanks....only code I got was a 55....which says is nothing....but I have got an annoying hesitation...any ideas?

 

There are several hesitation threads in the last couple of months....look back some pages and see if you can get some ideas from them......
