Electrical Problems, No power in ON position.

I turned my car off today and when I went to start it I turned the key to ACC to roll down the windows and stuff and noticed that there was no power. I thought the battery may have been dead but then I started the car and everything was back to normal. I also noticed that whenever I cut the car off and start it back the clock resets everytime. WHen I turn the key to ACC nothing in the car has power but I can still hear the fuel pump power up, what can be the problem?

it could be your alternator going out,

try getting your alternator tested and your battery tested and see how those two are doing,

I was told by a buddy that those two plugs that go into the battery harness are actually fuses and I shoudl try and change them. Is ther any truth to this and is there any way to test them?

Hard for me to fig out symptoms exactly from u story. Anyways, seems some accessory relay contacts play games: when alt up&running, voltage rises the problem vanishes. Points to dirty contacts... Plug out / push in - the 4relays beside fuse panel. And also the mentioned fuses...

If problem continues, snap on these relays with a screwdriver head. If no hlp, try swapping relays between similar relay locations to pinpoint the problem. Buy 'new' relay(s) from junkyard...

Whattodo for oxidated contacts: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/14

If u can troubleshoot & trace wirings, check out Favorite Links in my CDomain page.

well I tihink I figured out why this happened although I cant see to fix it. I looked under my car and on my alterantor and saw that peice of the wire had been cut or burnt and it was touching the chassis because it had come loose from the screw. The reason the alterantor kept goind was because I had the Big 3 done and that was supplying current to the battery. I checked all the fuses and everthing looks good. If I turn the key to the on Position, I get no pwer inside the cabin at all. No door lights, no clockk, no seatbelts, nothing. However, I if I start the car everything operates as normal again. Im stumped guys, help!!

lets look at what we know
1. clock loses time when the ignition is turned off, which means that the clock is losing power.
2. if the car is started and running (which means the alternator is charging)then all electrical works
3. if the car is on but not running (alternator not charging) then no power.

By deductive reasoning there is a bad fusible link from the battery to the main BAT feed on the car.

Check to see if your headlights work with the car off and if the brake lights and horn work.

Does your HU keep it's presets?

a huge tree?

Looks, feelings fail. -->Measure fuses. Swap fuses. Swap relays.

Take deep breath. Start to think. What common these symptoms have? Check the fuse panel table and schematics to pinpoint this. Use given links...

Hey I got one for you guys.

Parking lights don't work.

Tail lights don't work.

Gauges don't light up

Buzz sound comes from the tranny when I turn the headlights on or use the turn signal, or haZard lights. This is when the car is not running.

Brake lights works

Anyone experience anything like that?

I....
Checked bulbs
Checked fuses
Pulled the gauges
Checked wires under the dash

and everything seems to be OK
