Injector Removal

I have a 1992 maxima with a vg30e engine. The number one fuel injector went bad. Do I have to remove the entire fuel rail to remove the injector or can i remove the cover over the injector and just pull the one injector out.

Thanks

Carl.

first of you have to remove the upper intake and lower intake to get to the fuel injector,

second you don't have to remove the fuel rail to remove the fuel injector,

you can just remove that fuel injector and you will be fine,

and another thing don't get remanufactured injector they have a short life cycle,

get new if you can afford it or get used these two will be better for you in the long run,

and if you can afford it replace all six because if one fails the others won't be far a long to fail to,

Thanks, I was aware that I had to remove the upper and lower intake and thought i could get away with just removing the one injector. I did buy a new one but I will only be replacing the one since this car is our winter beater because I wont drive my 2005 G35 6mt in bad weather.

Thanks again

Carl

I just did this 2 months ago. I don't think I could have removed one injector without removing the rail. The rail removal was among the easiest part of the process. The injector removal from the rail wasn't. It took quite a lot of pressure. I had to push it up from the bottom.

that's because on a VE the front injectors can be changed with no disassembly.
20 minute job, includes pulling car into and out of the bay.
