300 ZX parts in our maxima

What parts can we get from a z32 weather turbo or N/A?

My friends dad has access to many 300zx's and I wanted to know which parts listing from least amount of fabrication to most, that our maxima can still derive benifit/preformance gains.

For instance can we just swap in a z32 MAF in order to get a wider wideband or is it the same.
Or to swap the calipers with minor fabrication.

Stillen has a Z32TT conversion kit for our SE VE30DE maxima. Only needs a tranny adaptor plate. Give them a call. They will be discontinuing the kit in 2 months.

Call them and ask. It might be discounted now even more. Ask for the Z32 TT conversion kit for the 94 maxima SE. If they say "no", tell them to check again.

I just got off the phone with them and they quoted me $1750 for the kit. It includes everything that you need except the engine. And you were WRONG. The kit did include a tranny adapter plate. It should be here next week and I will be sure and take some pics for you.

you can use every part of the car on ours, you just need duck tape, a hammer, and a torch.

What will actually add performance or perform better than parts from a 3rd gen?

I was waiting for that

I thought you said rake and was wondering how the hell you knew all the yard tools were in a bin to the right of that rack

you didn't catch the bottle of brake fluid on the ground, along with the flywheel and flexplate, but then again they are kind of hard to see.

hey shawn,

wouldn't that bottom piston fit into a vg engine?

since the vg30dett almost the same as the vg30e

both pistons are built for vg engine. they will both work for vg, b/c they were supplied inside of a vg when new. compression rating on these motors are different, b/c one is running with boost.

I thought you could only get the VG30DET in the Max. I thought the TT wouldn't fit... Can you convert a GXE with the same kit?

The TT engine will fit, you just need a cowl hood, the more rise the better.

I did the TT conversion but I didn't get any pics as I was too busy replacing trannies.
Give stillen a call. They'll give you a quote for the kit. I was quoted like two grand as I ordered some extra stuff with it. Now Iregret dropping that much money as I blew three trannies b/c they have a custom VB mod for the auto's and I thought if I rode it light I can survive. pay the extra 250 for this mod and buy a tranny cooler too. I actually traded my kit for my sunbird and cash as I toasted the tranny again an didn't want to dish out more money for the 5-speed conversion and actually finding a good used tranny.

So let me get this straight,

No only can you put in a VG30DETT,BUT, you can make it work with your tranny too ? Well damnit if it's so easy why isn't the max a ME TOO car ? If you think about it the swap alone will cost you just as much (if not cheaper) as a ka to SR20 or D to B series etc.. swap. Except you get more power and IMO better overall performance. You figure you do some moderate bottom end buiding ,get creative on the cooling IE: V-mount i/c and radiator. Decent size turbo's and a custom CF cowl hood...OMG I'm melting thinkin about it. I'mma call around some buddies and price a used TT motor. I'll call stillen too and geta price on that kit and all the extra stuff. What exactly did you order with your package ? That way I can see what I might be able to get cheaper or so myself. Not sound like a noob (considering I've worked with these motors for a while now). But damnit this sounds like something that should be in the main stream. Why haven't turbo or modified heard of such a swap ? Was you handling effected too terribly ? I don't want to bomb you with question so I'll wait till tommorow.

c'mon man...stop making fun of the guy. the nissan tranny should bolt up to the motor....well if it doesn't i'm sure there will be an adapter from the kit. make sure the tranny is strong enough...that's what you need to really worry about.

So this 'kit' you speak of....it only fits/works in a '94 SE? What about an '89 SE that already has a 92-94 LSD 5spd trans. swapped into it?

You should be ok then. Because the rest is pretty much the same. Maybe a bit of wiring to make up for the differences.
