I bought a 1992 maxima se with 133,000 mikes, and love the car to death, but have a few problems im hoping someone could help me with. First off the exhaust seems to put out a white smoek which dissapears after about 5 minutes of driving. Second there is a small ticking sound which im guessing might be the valves, does anyone know if they are sefl adjustable?

A couple things......

the white smoke could be a bad O2 snesor and the "ticking" could be bad VTC's. read more about the VTCs in the FAQ at the top of the forum page. you might also need a tuneup...

Umm mike I told you that sometimes I hear my VTCs when I start the max in the morning but not much. What you heard from my maxima is a fvcked up tranny bearring, I dont think you have heard my VTCs yet (Knock on wood). The same day I bought my max I put full snythetic oil in and bought that special filter from nissan. I think you should do the same. Can't hurt!
