TDC question

TDC question

Gonna replace timing belt/water pump/and any leaking seals..question is:
Does lining up all three allingment marks on camshaft and crankshaft pulleys with marks on engine put pistons TDC?

It places the No. 1 piston at TDC of the compression stroke.

I thought so but Haynes manual didnt mention the allignment marks for TDC but All Data did.
