Thats not a full tune up. Did you just buy plugs and wires? A full tune up includes fuel filters, oil&filter some times, bad sensors, and any hoses and belts that need replacement, and that can add up real quick, but it will pay off at the pump, and in the HP department too.

sounds like a vacuum line may have been left off. go over your motor and look around for loose connections, rotted hoses, or unconnected lines.

when i say full tune up of course oil and filters duh whos dumb enough to just change just plugs and wires and chageing sensors is not part of the tune up you not going to change sensors every 3000 miles.and plugs and wires do not cost $70 and yea it was a full tune up

If you did not move the distributor when you did your tune up then don't move it now...its not the problem if you didn't move it....

I'm the service manager at a shop. A FULL tune-up parts and labor would prolly cost you 300-400

Does the car sputter when you accelarate or does it accelarate smoothly, just not quickly??

-Check for cracked/leaking vaccum hoses/lines.
-Get someone with a timing light and a brain to set your ignition timing (move dist.)
-And like our brother from da' north said, bosch is absolute trash. use NGK or denso, that is factory stuff that can be had at a parts store, NGK or factory wires are good anything else is a waste of $.
-Did you replace the fuel filter? very easy on VG, not sure on VE.
-how old is the fuel in the tank? water in tank?
-is idle speed set at correct RPM?
-Any check eng. light? / codes?
-oh, and EFI/injector cleaners/treatments never hurt. injector tips DO get cruddy after a while. anyone who has replaced injectors can verify that.

P.S. - my VG car would run rough for a bit initially after sitting for 2 or more days. Never really cared why, cuz it only did it if it sat. I'm rebuiling it right now anyway.

Try cleaning the idle air control vale and the throttle body with some throttle body cleaner...Don't use carb cleaner....They are not for your exact car, but the cleaning procedure is the same....

Here are a couple links on how to do it.....

You arent too clear on whether or not the car had a stumbling issue before the tune up or not. If it did and the tune up didnt fix the stumbling, then you should check the fuel injectors. a bad injector will cause stumbling and a lack of power.

Just for reference, a 91 GXE won't haul *** no matter what type of tune up you did. Take off the dist cap and see if there's condensation inside.

Oh okay, I finally got it. But.. If you look closely, that sentance could be viewed 2 ways, which could account for the confusion.
