should i replace transmission or repair it?
i have a 92se with an automatic transmission. reverse works but not very well but no other gear works. Should I have this trans rebuilt/repaired or just replace it? I know you guys are probably going to say swap for a 5-speed but i dont want to put the extra money into it. I am going to sell this car as soon as its fixed.
honestly it will probably be cheaper to swap in a 5 spd than to rebuild your automatic.
But if you're just going to sell it, throw in another auto tranny from a salvage yard and dump the car before it goes bad. there are tons in the NE area for $3-500.

I bought this car with the blown tranny with the sole purpose of fixing it and selling it. I drive a 97 max. I bought the car at a good deal and am just trying to fix it and make a profit. Otherwise, if I was keeping it than I would put a 5 speed in it.
