Help: Maxima stock alarm

I got a 94 gxe, the stock alarm goes off far too often. Is there anyway I can disable the alarm? Thanks!

The system should only be operational if all windows are closed. Might check the hood switch. It could be getting a loose connection.

I tell you what, that shock the $hit out of me the first time I opened the hood. It was raining, and I was changing out the air filter really quick, so I ran out to the car, opened the hood, and locked the car as I shut the door. When I opened the hood, sucker went off. I about smacked my head into the hood.

that is a simple, effective, and cheap way of fixing the problem. As the orgs self proclaimed deconstructionist, I must stress the use of a hammer (preferably 5lb sledge) to remedy this problem.

Not only will it cure the alarm, it'll bring out your creativity in changing the body lines of the car. You can have a one of a kind Maxima (though I stress going to a junkyard so as not to infringe on any copyrights)

sorry for not being specific. the alarm goes off a lot because its very senstitive (when windows are closed, doors locked) for example a car drives down the street at a high speed, the alarm will go off, thunderstorm... alarm goes. it was in a front end accident and sensor may have been damaged from that because previously alarm was not nearly as sensitive. so how would i go about disabling the alarm what need to be unplugged. or can i just disable one of the sensors. thanks!

My non stock alarm gets nasty on rain, radio interference when lots cars actuate their radio locks... Semi-solution: A cutoff switch for the siren, another for blinks to be used when rains... Still the alarm keeps engine not starting with a screwdriver from ign key lock.

The problem was found after some seeking: a pinched wire on the ctrl circuit satellite; that created almost a short - result was intermittent radio related false alarms = increased sensitivity.

I've disconnected the alarm on all three of my cars because when you open the driver door with a key the alarm goes off and then you have to open the passenger door or the trunk with the key to shut it off. Is there a way to FIX the alarm so it still works???? Resoldering like the clock or door lock timer? Disconnecting it removes the inconvenience but doesn't solve the problem.

there is a relay under the hood for the alarm, check along the ones around the air filter, but something tells me it's in the block under the radiator overflow tank, in front of the battery. I'd start there.

Has to be problem within drivers door as your pass door & trunk works: worn lock & mech and/or alarm disarm sw does not work. Swap the lock & assy from pass door (or just adjust, repair the disarm sw).

FSM calls that the "Drivers side door unlock sensor" see at EL-126. Theft ctrl unit box is beside dash fuse box relays FSM EL-125.

It's been said but make sure your doors are closed for 1. Otherwise I dont believe your alarm is a stock set up. When I bought my MAX the alarm was aftermarket, but atleast 10 years old. Real POS. I removed it, along with the Car phone set up ( see 10 miles of coax cable!!! ). Check out what you have in detail, if you need wiring diagrams, let me know. Good luck!

That drivers door lock sensor must be what is wrong with mine.

I can tell now however if unl;ocking by using the drivers door will sound the alarm or not.

If I do the unlock motion 2 times pretty quick it will unlock all 4 doors,When it does this the alarm deactivates,if I do it 2 times and it only unlocks the drivers door, before i open the door i go aorund and pop the trunk becasue i know for sure it will sound the alarm

It will work fine for a week then not work for a week, must be the sensor or a wire that is borken inside the insulation so sometimes it works and sometimes it doenst

edit: After looking at the manual I woudl say my door lock/unlock switch is bad, ill fix it when i out new speakers in
