I've helped build one before. Just gotta git er done. I think it was 2 180* 3" mandrels with a 5" inner radius? Don't quite remember.

Then a saw to cut them with and a welder... or a bunch of couplings if you wanted I guess.

I know you are joking, so this is not directed to you, but that is about the most retarded thing to do. Nothing at Home Depot belongs on cars, and if it is, it's ghetto rigging.

Funny thing is it's always those guys asking for help when stuff goes wrong.

I used 3" pvc pipe to make a CAI when i had my VE, and it worked well for me. The engine did blow up one day, haha who knows if it was from the CAI or my crazy driving, but it sounded very awesome and in the like 4k RPM range i could feel a difference.

with welding or w/o welding? (i'm going to saw w/o because you're asking)

materials:
2 x 90 degree mandrel bends
3 x 3" silicone coupler
7 X decent quality hose clamps 3.25"
1 MAF adapter
1 open element filter that fits

tools:
3" tubing cutter, chop saw, hack saw
screwdriver
band aid

that will get you a HAI

CAI...add:
1 X 90 degree 3" mandrel bend
1 X 3" silicone coupler

that's about it in a nut shell...if you have more questions then go and pony up for a real CAI kit. STOP BEING CHEAP!

I fail to see the logic in taking an intake from a 4 cylinder car and putting it on a 6 cylinder car but ok

Actually, they have a lot of the things you need -- welder, chop saw, grinder, maybe even the hose clamps and metal tubing (not sure about that one).

yeah. I don't think PVC and dryer duct material should be used in a car

You have to take off the air box, and then you get a MAF adapter ( i made mine from part of the airbox because i didnt have time to wait, PM me for more details if interested) and then a 3" pipe connecter thingy majig.
