Drum brakes

I'm going to paint the calibers (sp?) on the front two brakes, I was wondering what would happen if I painted the 2 drums in the rear.

as long as you just paint the outside of the drum, nothing. There probably covered in rust right now, paint won't hurt them at all

I used a regular sander.....

and some heavy grit sand paper, nothing serious. and for the last year no flaking after I painted it, heres a pic-->
