Ok Im clueless as to what a resonator does, I had my muffler replaced, and the guy at the shop told me for 20$ he could take off the resonator and replace with just a straight thru pipe, and that would open it up and make more noise.. is this true?

 

All the resonator does is quit down the exhaust a little.Dallas@WSP told me there really is no loss/gain with the resonator off/on.
