Possible suspension problems.

I have a 94 Maxima GXE with about 102k miles on it. Sometimes when I hit the gas and the hood moves up from the momentum there will be a loud popping sound near the driver's side of the car. I can actually feel the popping in the floorboard when it does it. It just started doing this today out of the blue. I did notice in the winter when the car was cold and I hit bumps in road there was a loud popping and squeaking sound coming from the front suspension. When I push the front of the car down to test suspension it is very bouncy and the struts make a leaking air or hydraulic pump sound on both front strut areas. I also notice the suspension being loose and the car does kind of wander around when turning kind of like a magic carpet. I am just trying to possibly pinpoint by other user experiences what parts of suspension or whatever else this noise could be coming from. I also have a 24k/2yr extended warranty I bought which says in the suspension are it covers upper and lower control arms, wheel bearings, spindles, and control arm bushigns and shafts. It doesn't mention struts which I would assume are a maintenance part? Please respond asap before i take it to the dealer and get raped. Thanx....

Well I know for sure that your stock shocks are blown to hell. You definately need new shocks. You can try to get them changed though warranty but don't be suprised if they decline. But by all means try!! If they replace them w/ new stock Nissan shocks, that would be a nice warranty deal for sure.
If you have to buy shocks, then I highly recommend that you avoid the cheaper shocks(ie.. Monroe etc..) KYB makes excellent stock replacement shocks for the maxima. www.shox.com are nice and reply fast. They will know what you need.
If you want to take this opportunity to upgrade to performance lowering springs/shocks. Do a search of the 3-gen section for Eibach, Tokico, Koni, Suspension Techniques and Intrax. That should give you an idea of what to expect.
