where on earth is this hose connected to

where on earth is this hose connected to

while changing vacuum lines, i found this hose disconnected and couldn't find the other end!
It is directly under the intake air damp box and on the tranny control valve cover?
here is the picture:

Come to think of it, I once found a plug in that general area that seemed to have no match.

Well after cleaning the sleep out of my eyes and taking a second look at the thread, the hose you point out is the tranny breather hose...It's function is the let the transmission's hot air and gases to escape from the casing when it heats up....
