gold package on 3rd gen

I was driving down the street a couple of days ago and saw a Cream colored 3rd gen max with gold trim instead of the standard crome grill and other trim from what i could see (heading opposite direction). Does anyone know if that was a option or maybe a custom job? if someone has pics please post!

It's custom. just go look for a place selling lbing wheels and I'm sure they'll know where to get it done

that crap was pretty popular back when these cars were new, but I am sure you can still have it done.

Back in the old days (when I was in HS) instead of ricers we had "mini trucks" and gold trim was cool for some of them, along with the dancing beds and the home made targa tops.

Do these old school "custom" jobs include those shiney wheel arcs? I see that alot on 89-91's.. Also seen the bottom part of the doors chromed up as well a few times, sayin "4DSC" in italic like some of the 80's Carreras had.

i see the gold emblems alot here in jersey too. I had to have been a factory thing cause there is way too many of them....or its really cheap to get done.....

It could be something the dealership or factory did. My Infiniti has gold emblems on it.

I think it might have been a factory option. I've seen lots of early 4th gens (95-96) with it (front girlle and rear trunk letters).

there's a guy with a cream 3rd gen in my area, he's got the gold trim. i thought it was aftermarket, but the same color as the one you saw makes me think it might have been done at the dealership.

back when these cars were new there was a machine you could buy to "Golden" anything "metallic". or you could have it done for like $25-50 by a "professional"
around here there's a dealership that still sells "gold edition" cars all they do is redo the emblems in gold and toss onsome gold pinstriping

I remember reading LRM and seeing adds for those machines. DAMN they were expensive.

Oh well nmot really sure if my car would look good with gold. to be honest I'm half tempted to paint the chrome
