5-speed conversion

so i am gonna go through with the 5-speed conversion.......im gonna look for write-ups, but it might take me a while because no one has posted recent writeups, so i must find them again...if someone could help me out, id appreciate it but i am gonne get all of the parts from a local junk yard that my buddy owns so ill get everythign pretty cheap, i might even buy a donor car.......so if anybody can help please speak up, i need to know EVERY part to get off of that car. thanks .orgers......Doug

If you got a parts car line them up together then take the auto out then disassemble the manual tranny part by part. There are also no complete writeups for third gens. There are for fourth gens though.

i thought that there were at least 3 write ups for the 5-speed conversion..i know i sen them before, but i cannot find them, i have to look wy back in the forums

yep, like mine. Its pretty easy once you get into it. Only one or two gotcha's and they are covered by the half *** writeups. Or send me specific questions. I do have a VE though, so some of it is different, like the wiring.

thanks guys, next week im gonan go to the junk yard and look for a donor car, how much did you guys buy your donor cars for???? thanks alot guys

i bought mine for $450 from a mexican. it was flat black, the hood and drivers door were half flat black and half burgendy. aka very back paint job that covered a lot of bondo. it started ran and had a brand new clutch so i was set. sold some parts, got 4 good rims and i think i got a good value. I mean the clutch had less then 300 miles so i was really happy.

i didn't buy a donor car. i only spent roughly about $250 for everything. and did the job myself in 3 days.

I paid $750 for mine. I ended up using all sorts of stuff off of it to put together another Maxima that someone took a baseball bat to.
