Manual Experts Please

The other day while I was backing into my parking spot, as I went to press in the clutch I felt more resistance than usual. I press harder and suddenly, snap, the pedal falls to the floor and doesnt come back up. I opened the hood and I saw that the slave cylinder had blown out, pushing the pin past the clutch fork.

The clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, ss braided clutch line, TO bearing, and trans (VE rebuild) all have around 5k miles on them. The clutch was reused since it had low miles at the time of the rebuild ( ) so Im wondering if the pressure plate or TO bearing could have failed, causing the clutch to lock up and too much pressure to build up in the clutch line ultimatly blowing out the slave cylinder??? IE should I just replace the slave cylinder or is there likely more to this? Thanks in advance

I would say your clutch disc and/or pressure plate are broken...

Sounds like your clutch is busted or a major problem with the release arm. You will probably need to pull everything out for further inspection. Good luck.

pull the slave cyl, shove the plunger back in, then try it again. see what happens and then make a decision whether or not to pull the tranny based upon that.

You need to find out exactly where it is leaking from..After the car has sat overnight, crawl under it where it is leaking with a flashlight and look around for it...

A small mirror on a rod helps too.
