Thanks man! It's too dak and cold to screw around with it after being up for 2 days, I'll put your idea to good use in the am. You said in one thread you got your axle from Autozone and they gave you the wrong one? Just so I'm straight on this you have a 5 speed, and you need to ask them for the axle for an auto?

Well,

What I did for the passenger is I bought the AZ part, and not only was it too long, it had the smaller splines, which are used on the auto, THIS is what clued me in to check the auto one, when I took them both ( the one I bought, and the one off the car) back in to the store.

I went to the back with the guy, and laid mine out and compared it to all the passenger axles there, inlcude the ones they had listed for the VG's.

Okay...My car is an VE (DOHC) 5-Speed, no ABS, with VLSD (which doesn't matter on the passenger side)

The part they have listed for my car is 9708 which I think is the ACTUALLY for the auto (based on the difference spline size). THe part that I matched the axle I took of to, bought , and successfully installed on my car is 9704.
