VE Electrical expert?

I have no power at my vtc harness?

Where are the connect points that I may need to check are there fuses for this section?

test your wire harness, if it checks out, it's new ECU time

The power for the VTC's come from the fuse box in the dash, the same 12v power is used for the consult connector as well as a bunch of other solenoids etc. The ECU is the switched ground. I dont remember exactly what fuse it is though.

Well, I did eventually figure this out, after replacing and alternator, I found that there is a 10-Amp dash fuse for the ECU that had blown.

A damn fuse, after chasing my tail for 2 days

If it makes you feel better, My friend had an 89 300ZX sitting inop in his front yard for 2 years replacing this and that and it still wouldn't start. After 2 years he realized the positive wasn't hooked up on his fuel pump... Car worked just fine.

well I must thank you for that post, and I did check that odd ball 10a eng contr fuse, guess what it was blown. I replaced it and the accessories such as clock and radio settings were erased so i had to reprogram the stations and clock.. You are the man. Save me the time and money of replacing a 146k alternator that was working properly and terminal cables. The maxima started up with no problem and no rough idle like when It first started. Before the the solution of the problem, I had to start the max and gas it really quick to keep it from stalling and the rpm needle bouncing from 400rpms-600 rpms and lights dimming.

What could have cause this fuse to blow?? I am glade that I didnt have to spend on the 100+labor replacement, money that I currently have to spare at the moment.

Org rocks.... thanks again blackandwhite

Been there... some good advice I got: when looking for a problem (especially electrical), check the easiest possibilites first (fuses etc.). Sounds easy, but for some reason, easier said than done.

one of the 1st things a normal person would of checked would be fuel pressure and since there would have been none, he would have figured it out within a few hours instead of 2years
