Best place to get injectors and my blower is stuck on!
Greetings,
On my '93 Maxima GXE, the fan on the heat-A/C unit is on all the time
(well, except when the car is shut off
). From what I can gather it's
a limiting resistor or something in the blower motor that needs to be
replaced. This is the automatic climate control, not the manual one.
Anyone know what the part number of the resistor and where to get one?
Suppose if I had the correct name, I could just call up Brown or Courtesy
and tell them what I am looking for or if it is cheap enough, call the local
dealership and save shipping (but pay full price + tax).
The other question: I talked a friend of mine into buying a decent looking
'90 GXE from a fellow and the thing is getting about 13MPG and runs rough.
It appears someone split all of the injector boots to check the resistance
of the injectors and when I press on one of the connectors, the motor
bogs down...not sure if that indicates a bad connector, broken wire, or
what. If I find that one of the injectors is out of spec resistance-wise,
where's the cheapest place to get replacements? I get the vibe that most
folks do not favor using rebuilt/remanufactured injectors even though they
are 1/3 what a new one costs ($35 vs $108). This lady is on a tight budget
and I will probably end up doing the work for free because I feel bad the
thing is not running right after I talked her into buying it (she's already spent
over $400 on other repairs...fuel line replacement and something in the
suspension). Other than dropping $100 on a used set of injectors via Ebay
and using those, what's my best option for a low cost fix? And how the heck
do you tell if they are blue or black dot if you can't get one of the connectors
loose to look? I was not having a lot of luck trying to get a connector off to
check out the top of the injector....but I guess I could give it another try if
necessary...it looks like whoever owned this before lived on a dirt road, it's
filthy under the hood. Might have to take it to a car wash before I do
anything under the hood...
Thanks,
John

I haven't personally used the new ones from python(I have a VE) but at least they're new.and about 40% cheaper than bosch is.
