Does anyone know if you can take the HID from another car at the junk yard and integrate it into a max?

I've actaully only seen a writeup about a HID kit after the BMW light conversion. I have not seen one for the OEM light.

A guy with a 4th gen took HID's from a GS and put them in his ride..so yes..it's possible. You might have to do some modification to the housing though but I doubt it's anything serious.

Wouldn't you also need...

some electrical modifications, since its "high intensity discharge", I doubt the APC upgrade harness could handle that

In JC Whitneys sport comact catalog they have an APC H.I.D. conversion kit for "only" $999.95 The kits plug in to your factory harness and I think you need the the 9004 kit. I think it is to expensive ,but if you want it get it.

If you could afford that, you wouldn't be asking

sorta like luxury cars...if you have to ask...it's too much

I can afford it, but I just don't see the point. It seems like a waste of money.

Actually...you don't need an upgraded harness...the HID's put out less heat than regular bulbs thus any harness would do.

Actually, the OEM harness would not suffice becasue the HID unit uses a separate power source. HID kits come with a balast that produce a spark or arc that genrerates the light. Most kits have a square looking box that attaches to the harness. This box is the external power source that produces the arc. The OEM harness only acts as a relay in this set-up to give a charge to the external power source.
