Wierd turn signal and headlight problem.
OK, my quest to fix this myself has left me and my father stumped, but I hope you guys can help! I have been slowly fixing all the little things wrong with my Maxima, and have most of it done except for this: the left turn signal doesn't work right. Say I am driving during the day, with the headlights off. I put my left turn signal on, and they work fine....except for the fact that the entire dash/gauge cluster/console lights all blink in unison with the turn signal! Now say I'm driving at night, I turn the lights on. The left turn signal stays on when the headlights come on. No flashing, not even when I put the signal on. I can hear the relay clicking, but the lights do not flash. I am thinking that there is a light/turn signal wire crossed somewhere, but haven't the foggiest idea where it could be. The right turn signal works perfectly fine.
Can anyone help me out with this? This is the only thing left on the car that is keeping me from getting it inspected! And I've lost count of how many times I've been pulled over and had to explain this to the police.

its the gremlins under your hood !!! Do an excercism and it should be fine....
On serious note though, can you back track to whether or not you have touched any of the wirings during your quest for perfection? Had the car been parked for an extended amount of time? If so, check for rodent droppings.
Have you tried to disassemble the turn signal switch? since the headlight and the turn signal are physically the same lever, try cleaning the contacts up.
try to take your dash apart, (you can still drive with it all disassembled), and start tracing the jungle of wires behind it for any crossed/oxidated wires and terminals, if you can, take out the plastic lining under the driver side wheel well and inspect the wires that are running through there to the battery area.
Also check your relays, they may be clicking, but something might have malfunctioned.
Those are just a few of my suggestions, I'm sure others will chime in soon enough.
EDIT: forgot to mention the "shakedown" test, just grab the wires near the fuse panels from the back, the ones behind the speedometer, and the one in the engine bay, and start shaking, see if that will solve your problem, if so, you have a loose connection somewhere.
