Digital Climate control

Alright. I'm of digital climate controls. They're always dark. Everyone claims there is a way to fix them like the clock, but I have yet to see an answer to this problem.
So I ask everyone this: IS THERE A DIGITAL CLIMATE CONTROL FIX THAT MAKES IT BRIGHT ALL THE TIME, AND IF SO, HOW DO YOU DO IT?

Climate control

I have some what the same problem. My climate control goes really bright when it wants, and I will turn off the car and start it up again and will be dark, sometimes it stays dark for long time. Anyone out there fix this problem?

since the thread is here... I saw a thread a while back about doing a digital climate control swap... but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Can someone assist me in finding it?

You should check some of your local auto yards(junk yards) near you and ask if they have any GXEs cause i think only GXEs held the digitals only.. i think some one on this forum has a write up on the conversion but its alotta work

Craig Brace's site. its in the stickies somewhere...or google for it.

its time involved but worth it if you have the skills to do it.

mine did the same when i bought it a year ago; was only bright in cold temps because of a short in the circuit.

cant see it at all now

check ebay; i need to sometime.

anyone know what branch or connection needs resoldered on the digital control? i just bought an extra digital climate control to work on and then switch with my original; probably fix the original up as well and sell it for next to nothing

I'd like to know where exactly you solder too.

On a side note, I have 3 extra units that work in case anyone needs one. My opinion is it's easier to just swap in a new one.

im interested in one of these...how much are you asking?

itll save me a lot of time and trouble; i can only guess its a bad component withing the circuitry is the culprit...like the door lock timer

the connecttions inside get corroded and cause the soldered points to go bad. you can take it out and resolder, that should fix it.
