Seatbelt Info

Does anyone have any specifics on the supposedly lifetime warranty on the seatbelts? Mine seem worn and do not retract like they should where they come out of the center console. They have a lot of slack. I was wanting to find the actual literature and see what it says verbatium.

Just go to the nearest nissan dealer and tell them you want it fixed.

I took my to the local Nissan and they said the warranty only for 10 years. I call Nissan customer service number 1-800-1nissan (or 1-800-nissan1 can not remember) and they confirmed the seat belts are life time warranty and give me a confirmation numer. I took that number and went back to the dealer. They seem to be pissed but proceeded to fix it anyway. It took me 4 trips back to the service to finally get it done. I dropped the car off and nothing done by the end of day because missing parts, parts suppose to be there that day but was not, only partial part arrived, and I forgot the last excuse.

Like Doug, I had a bit of a hassle, too.

I brought in my owner's manual, which states all the information about the lifetime warranty. I had to go all the way to the service manager before they agreed to replace my worn out seatbelt. I don't have a scanner and there is too much crap written to type it all in right now. Just find an owner's manual with the warranty information booklet.

A nice bonus is that the front two seatbelts are all one system, so they replaced both front belts. It was all free and took one day.

Dealers are like girlfriends. They'll b!tch and moan and resist, but with enough persistence they'll give in.

Don't have one at the moment...Have you ever been to Houghton, Brian? This is the land on snow and snowcows...I think MTU's ratio is like 7:1 right now.
