i bought a loaded 91 black se auto for $500. car kept stalling when i went to look at it, after it had been sitting for a month or 2. since i bought it a week ago and driven it around a bit, the stalling ceased and is left with this. on a cold start when choked it seems to fire on all cylinders while idling at 1500, and revs smoothly but as soon as it warms up and idle drops, no. 6 cylinder has troubles. rarely fires if ever, revs aren't smooth anymore. pulling all other plugs results in a drop in rpm, except for 6 which i'll add is getting a spark. i was thinking injector, but it's running well when cold so i dunno. it's also overcooling while driving, which i'm wondering is a result of engine running on 5 cylinders. or of course the thermostat is stuck open..any ideas?

it's the injector. the coil internal to it is bad and when it warms up it separates causeing the circuit to be incomplete

get some money together and buy 6 new ones. no point in doing them 1 at a time.

 

yep. i was planning on grabbing the rail from a 131k gxe as well as the fender, hood and stillen spoiler..body parts for my 106k mi. pearl 5 speed, and injectors for the black auto w/ 183k. or just swap motors and trannies and use pearly as a parts car. too damn cold for that kind of job now though. what i should be doing is shopping for xmas presents instead of worrying about this
