How to remove 3rd gen rear seats?

Hello,

I am trying to remove the rear seat of a '94 GXE.

I have removed rear seats of others cars, including an 02 Maxima, but unlike other cars, on the 3rg gen's rear seats, there are no tabs or anything to pull to "unlock" the lower cushion.

The Nissan FSM only has a picture of what the seats look like when removed, but on the picture there are no indications for location of the release mechanism.

Help will be much appreciated.

check Craig's site. has directions with pics on how to remove the seats. but yeah, you have to pull like hell the first few times on the seat bottom, but it'll eventually get easier and easier.

I usually have a little easier time removing/installing if I use my knee to push the front of the seat back while pulling up. I have to push my seat back to install as it's slight preloaded and the clip won't line up with the receptical.

you remove the vertical part by pulling it up after you unscrewd the 2 bolts hidden by the armrest (there are 3 "clips" holding it on the top)

you then remove 2 bolts retaining the bottom seat (they are hidden at the extremities, where the vertical part was....then you pull up the front part

I had to use a 3 ft pry bar to get mine out the first time.
the plastic pieces never did let go of my seat, I bent the holes getting the seat out instead.
