What did you use to polish it?
Mothers last about 3-6months or so then you have ti hit it again. Methinks using clear spray paint will do a better job

polished > painted

Someone[not me] did a crappy rebuild on the tranny and didn't seal the casing right..

it's called a reverse lockout feature
