I doubt the audi forums will be the same way, most forums aren't near as nice as we are here.

The 20V is one of the best engines ever created. Had an Audi 200 briefly, myself. And he's right about the forums...I joined 2 jeep forums and neither of them are even close to being as helpful as the people here.

yeah...i've heard the 20v is a good engine...so far i like the car...minus the fact i need to replace my clutch master cylinder...3 days with the car and i already have to replace a part...will be installing that tomorrow so the max is back on the road for the day

and the audi forums definitely arent as nice as the org...but we'll see hopefully they'll get better

Get used to it, you just bought an Audi.

Congrats, it should be a really fun car to drive. Are you parting with your Max or are you keeping it around as a backup?

It's funny cuz my co-worker has a '95 Audi S6 and I have a 90 SE. He just put Porche brakes on his S6. Those Quattros are really nice handling cars. He talks about them so much that I've been thinking of getting one. On the otherhand, I'm really curious about the new Acura RL. I saw one turn in front of me at an intersection at about 45mph. I'm not too fond of the styling, though. I've never checked it out, but you my want to look into the AudiWorld forums. Supposedly, there's a guy that's obsessed with shaving weight on his car and another that put a manual tranny in his A8. The new S4 (or is it the RS4) should also be an amazing car.

The current performance models are the S4 and the RS6. I have only seen one RS6, at Englishtown Raceway Park at a show. I see S4's all the time now. The last generation S4 had a Bi-turbo 2.8L 6-cylinder engine (I believe it is the 2.8L VW "VR6"). The newest S4 has a NA 4.2L DOHC V8 that they also use in the A6, A8, and VW Phaeton.

Audis are very fun cars to drive. I'll never knock their performance, but I personally don't have a lot of faith in their reliability. I would keep another car around for when the Audi is in the shop, because it's probably going to spend a lot of time there.

Good luck and enjoy!

Tell us more about your 95 Audi S6. I have been a fan of the 92-95.5 S4/S6 cars since reading about them in the car magazines.

This BMW M5 site has a link to a scanned 1991 car and driver article called magnum force - BMW M5 vs MB 500E vs Audi S4. Also look at Autocar 1994 Brawn Cocktail- M5 vs XJR vs S6

http://bmwe34m5.com/faqs/?theme=1&le...nt_id_select=3

Is yours a '95 or 95.5?
My favorites would be a '93 due to the carbon fiber interior trim (before everyone else jumped on the bandwagon), or a 95 due to the updated exterior.

im already a member at audiworld.com..seems like a good board...been busy with work so i havent had much time to browse it

im pretty sure i have an 95...the performance specs ive seen for the s6 are 228 hp...258 ft/lbs torque...dont remember 0-60 or 1/4 mile times...and i cant remember where i found the info at

there is a lot of good upgrades for it though...using stock parts from other audi's or porsche's...like the porsche bbk...i also read about the euro versions coming with a 6spd tranny...and its possible to covert US-5spd to euro 6spd...but im not positive yet

if you have any ?s pm me...i'll still be around
