i used to be "tight98civic" but i was off maxima.org for awhile and when i came back i just changed my name.it broke my bumper busted my headlight ripped my grille off mangled my finder, my door wont close all th way my hood is crunched my frame is bent and the engine compartment some how folded over and tore up and the metal front part cut through my radiator. it still drives technically but its all off and wont ever be the same even when fixed. what happend was that i was in the middle lane and a guy on my right, the light turned green and we both pulled out as normal people do at a green light when i see him coming and slam on the breaks he treis to go around me but catches my fron left corner with his back right corner hooked me with his bumber that sliced me like a can opener.

Your neck hurts, right? If it didn't before, it does now..

Make sure they total your car. it sounds like they're going to anyway, as that much damage won't be cheap to fix. But if they try not to, insist they do because it sounds like the frame is bent bad enough that it'll never be right again. Take it to a DEALER body shop and use their estimate, NOT the insurance company's. the repair cost will be close to boudle from a dealer, and they'll almost surely total it that way.

then take that cash and buy yourself a Max..

Hey, I'm hurt everytime I see one of those beasts...

About the Civic, it would suck to total the car, I guess it's pretty new, like 98? If you really love the car, it can be fixed, but it would be better to total it, you will get market value out of it and then you can buy something else.... (MAXIMA!)

When it comes to cross traffic stopping for a light, you gotta trust, but verify. At least you didn't get hurt. I knew a guy who got killed that way. He was just minding his own business and got hit by a car running their red.

hey, i drive my moms '93 explorer, i havent come close to hitting anyone, i think you just need to learn to drive, then step up to an SUV (by learning to drive, i mean, dont be afraid[all of the bad drivers i know are timid about something and overreact when something doesnt go their way, or they try to show off but dont really know how and f*ck something up] but dont be stupid either)

T-Bone -- Well done please.

My 91SE was hit "head on" four months ago @ 35 mph x2. Some **** (who was later arrested) going in the same direction as me, decided he wanted to turn around and go the other way. He basically pulled a 30 mph u-turn in front of on coming traffic. It spooked this lady travelling toward us, who jerked her wheel, stepped on the gas instead of the brake, came in to our lane of traffic -- KABOOM!
I bought this car in July 1996 with 50k on it. (ans still only 98k on my 10 year old MAX). I had paid out 57 of 60 monthly payments on it when it was hit. I couldn't stand the thought of writing it off after almost 5 years of payments. The write off amount would have been enough to buy a Yugo...and a can of paint.
I am happy to say my car is back after 9 weeks of rebuilding. The frame is certified straight, it drives like a champ, and I am just 1 fu**ing payment from owning it!!

Of course...I was in physical therapy for 2 months. Swallow my tongue occasionally, and I am suddenly able to breast feed myself, BUT...

LONG LIVE - THE MAXIMA!!

Re: T-Bone -- Well done please.

you can breastfeed yourself? WOW!

That's a *****, but sometimes it happens.. I'm STILL without a car from a wreck in March.. finally settled with the insurance, and it's enough to buy another one, but still. talk about a pain in the ****.. having to switch cars and transfer over all the goodies.. blah blah blah whine whine whien..

at least noone was seriously hurt.

Yeah it's a talent

I'm thinking of charging money and going on the road with my new act.

But seriously folks...It was amzing I even walked away from that accident. I've never felt speed was as much of a factor as stupidity is. Like weaving in and out of traffic, hanging u-turns, not using that stick on the steering column called an "indicator"!!!.

Glad to hear we are all okay. My no-airbag Max did just fine, and I feel closer to it than ever. I think my wife is getting a little suspicious though...

Regards,
Hadman

Seriously....lucky

Youre lucky you didnt get hurt. Same thing happened to my best friend 8 weeks ago. Hes still in a coma. (Lady who hit him was trying to commit suicide...no kidding.) She was only going 45. Looks like it'll take years for him to wake up/ re-learn everything.

Like I said...lucky.
