Y-Pipe question

Hello all.....Question. I have a WSP Y-Pipe on my VE5 and I just noticed in another thread that after the install you should reset your computer. Is this really necessary?? Thanks

how much power does a wsp y-pipe produce on a 89 vg engine?

I am going to buy one since mine is leaking badly!

Thanks

It is pretty good mod for the money. I haven't been in a VG with one, but it was definitely noticeable on my VE. For <$200 if you install it yourself (it's not really that hard) I noticed an increase in hp and mpg.

I figured that it was thought that the comp had to change the mixture....but its just an exhaust pipe and theres nuttin really different being done that would mess with the fuel trim. I mean other than the O2 sensor, theres really nuttin being toyed wit that would affect fuel trim.

I was actually hoping that it was a big deal cause my car has run sluggish for a long time now....and it almost seems like it has been around the same time as the y-pipe install (maybe a lil after), and i was hoping that that might help.

I changed the coolant temp sensor a few weeks back over break and that actually helped for a lil while , but right before i came back up to school it started actin up again.....ehhhh oh well i guess

Are the stock Y pipes the same? I remember reading the VE has the cat. bolts in a slanted pattern insted of being horizontal like the VG pipes. Reason I ask is because I have 1 good y pipe and 1 good flex section and I have some one wanting a new Y pipe or flex section if I dont have a Y pipe to fit his VE. He just has a stock exaust so I thought my Y would bolt to his VE but Im just double checking.
