How much should I offer

92 VE A/T
w/ABS (yuck)
W/ Airbag (yuck)
W/Black Leather (yuck)
150k
Maroon (yuck)
Sunroof
"sounds like a diesel truck" I'm assuming it's VTCs
Spoiler is ripped off (all that's left is stubs and holes)
rust on both rear doglegs

It's a chicago car that in the words of the owner " know it's in bad shape... we kinda ran it into the ground and now my sister is giving me her old corolla, so I have no need for it."
all sort of scratches on it

I want another VE A/T, I just don't know what to offer on this one.
any one have thoughts other than fi dolla?

Maroon, automatic and rust were all I needed to see. Don't even bother. Automatic maxima's are easy to come by.

I 'd offer them 100 bucks. Take the parts off you need or can sell and then give it to vans to wreck in the parking lot.

I've been looking for 4 months already (since mine left me)
this has been the only one to come that's been in my price range (sub $1500)
I may just offer her $200
I can probably make that back in parts (black leather)
The VTC rebuild kits are actually in stock by my local dealer (less than $30 ea )
it's the missing spoiler that bothers me more than anything else

I had a spoiler on my parts car but it just went to the junkyard...

I still have few parts from it though if you get the car and need something.

pwned

Brian, I am sure you can pick it up for a few hundred and find a way to make a few bucks on it if you aren't happy with it. I don't think it sounds like much of a keeper, but you can rock it for a while until something better comes along for $500...

You should have kept the grey one, the white one, and acquired this maroon one...Then maybe you could piece together a non-wrecked & running car!

J/K I'd say no more than $400. You can at least part it out like you said.

the grey one I couldn't have kept. the city wanted it more than I did.

If I'd have been able to keep the grey one I wouldn't be even considering this maroon wreck.

$200 is the most I would pay...$900 is way too much-you can get an excellent looking/running vg for this and if you're lucky may be even a ve...

Since you have so many "yucks" towards it, offer $200 tops, and leave it at that. Car sounds like a super POS...

I would do what I do, call up a few junkyards, pretend like you are selling them the car, and see what they would pay. Then offer the fellow slighly more than the yard will buy it for. Thats how I got my 93 VE AT ($350, turned out bad), 89 Accord ($200), and 90 GXE. ($300)

Yeah, michigan too. I put my hand against the metal under the back seat to get leverage for something I was doing, and about 6 square inches just disintegrated and sent my hand right through the car over the tire

2200 got me a one owner beautiful clean black VE 5spd with 136k back in August, that didn't ask for a penny since. VTC tick can be quited down completely with the V8 toyota filter in between oil changes. It needs stuff as well, but they are not mandatory. Car looks good on the outside and engine/tranny = top notch. And I found it within minutes on edmunds.com. I guess Im one of the lucky ones.
